𝘽𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙙𝙝𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙮 Last of the evening light. Well that’s been a blustery couple of days. Is it just the English obsessed in talking about the weather? After all, there’s a reason it’s called ‘this green and pleasant land’. All that green doesn’t happen without plenty of watering. Why have the Met Office become so obsessed in giving every downpour a name. Does anyone else find this just slightly odd? Have a great day of rest, if you’re not working of course! 😁 . . . #devon #visitdevon #visiteastdevon #villagelife #thatch #thatchedcottages #thatchcottage #thatched #chocolateboxcottage #dreamhome #nationaltrust #picturepostcard #capturingbritain #lovegreatbritain #weloveengland #thesouthwestuk #gloriousbritain #discoverdevon #discoverdevonuk

It's not so much the naming them but the foolish names they come up with I think are odd Colin! Gorgeous light in this pic ❤

I would like to offer what seems a very obvious but equally absurd reason for this sudden naming of various winds blowing in and out of the U. k. As with so much else American that the UK has chosen to adopt from so called American " culture" and I use that term extremely loosely, it seems this is yet one more. You probably are aware that in the U.S. all substantial hurricanes are given names ? This is just the same thing only fairly ridiculous to name any wind that is passing through instead of a major storm with gale force winds. It actually both disappoints me enormously the many truly ugly , ridiculous and destructive aspects of the worst of American life have been so heartedly embraced by the UK. I could list so many but know others would find it tedious..I suppose this naming thing is pretty innocuous in comparison with other truly vile things adopted from the US. The world has lost any ethical or moral compass or sense of taste it might have once possessed it seems to me. Govts and the general public who blindly or eagerly follow the narrative fed to them.
