During our trip to Chicago, we had some Indian food, that ushered in emotions of dining at a fancy Indian restaurant in India. I would go back to Chicago again and again, only to dine at this place! @bargoachi was just 3 days old when we went there! Thankfully, we made reservations beforehand, and the process of getting a table was pretty smooth actually! 😁 We had - > Prawn Balchao with Poi Bread (A classic Goan dish in a classic Goan combo. It was a little spicy, but absolutely delicious!) ❤️ > Fried Rice with Shrimp and Chorizo (This was my favourite from the day! Haven’t had such a flavourful rice dish in a long time. The shrimp and sausages had blend in so perfectly!) ❤️ > Chicken Cafreal Sandwich (Cafreal is one of my favourite Goan dish too. They brought a twist to it by marinating the chicken in Cafreal marinade, then fried and sandwiched in burger buns. It was unique and delicious!) ❤️ > Pork Vindaloo Poiwich (If there’s one Goan dish I would die for, it’s Pork Vindaloo. I had high hopes for this dish, but it was a little disappointing. The meat was completely dry, no hint of the spices used to cook Vindaloo. I liked how they cut open the Poi bread in Venezuelan style of eating arepas, but hardly had any Goan touch to it, in terms of both flavours and plating. I hope they put efforts on improving this dish.) 💔 I would rate my overall experience as pleasant. But it was a very new place when we went, so I guess they will improve much more over time. We are teetotallers, so we didn’t order any drinks, but they looked quite interesting! Since @roohcolumbus group of restaurants change their menu on a regular basis, and @bargoachi is their sister concern, I am hoping they would do the same. I would very much like to come back again, and see what new things they have to offer. Really looking forward to it, and wishing them all the best for running this new joint! 😇
