Tsuro, by @calliope_games Bought this for week 2 of my family game advent calendar this year, and we just opened and played it. Pros: - Really easy to learn and play (my 5yo played it with just a little help, could have done it himself). - Though it's easy to learn, unexpected things happen as you play (paths that suddenly connect and send your marker zooming). This was a lot of fun, and the kids all enjoyed it. - Up to 8 players! With a family of 6, I'm always excited when games will accommodate all of us. There are sooooo many 5-player games. - It's really pretty. Cons: - While the markers are pretty, they don't have very much heft or a very wide base, so we knocked them over repeatedly. It wasn't a big deal, just a minor inconvenience. All the kids, my husband and I, all enjoyed the game. It's quick, which is nice for us and especially for the 5yo's attention span. Will we play it a ton? Only time will tell! Looking at the Calliope game catalogue that came with Tsuro, I was really excited to see that almost all of them allow for up to 6 players! Like I said, this is amazing for us. A number of them look fun, and they all look pretty. So we'll probably buy another Calliope in the future. P.S. It's 15 minutes later, and the kids have been trying to combine all the tiles into one really long path. Enjoy the video of their infinite loop. 😆♥️ #boardgames #familyboardgames #tsuro
So so happy to see you enjoyed Tsuro! Sounds like the perfect game for the family. With the 5 year old, may we recommend Roll For It Deluxe? The regular version plays up to 4, but the deluxe plays up to 8 and has a fancy collectible tin and upgraded card art!
