Carbohydrate consumption is often associated with weight gain. So, it’s not uncommon for clients to want to follow a low carb diet. Yet, reducing carb intake could negatively impact a client’s ability to achieve optimal muscle gain. Cells use glucose for energy production. When glucose is stored in the body, it is called glycogen. If the body doesn’t have enough glycogen available, getting through a resistance training workout can be a struggle. Carbohydrates help top off glycogen stores, supporting a more intense exercise session.  Rice Similar to weight loss, caloric intake is the most important factor when it comes to gaining lean mass. However, quality carbohydrates from foods like rice can support bulking efforts a few different ways. Pasta Adding pasta to your daily diet is a healthy way of building muscle mass as it's rich in carbohydrates and protein. Adding light sauces, lean meats and low-fat cheeses to your dish is also recommended Potatoes Potatoes are a good source of potassium and carbs, so eat them after your workout to restore your energy levels and speed up post-workout muscle repair. Fruits Fruits provide a natural source of carbohydrates along with a good amount of vitamins and minerals. For higher-calorie fruits, choose bananas, pineapple, or dried fruits such as raisins or dried cranberries. Oats Oats are a great form of carbohydrate which is incredibly beneficial for preparing your muscles for working out – carbs supply the body with the energy it needs. Oats are digested at a slow pace meaning those consuming them before workouts will experience a longer payoff of its energising benefits. Quinoa Quinoa. If ever there was a perfect post-workout food, it's quinoa. Not only is it high in protein and fiber, it's also high in magnesium and iron, which helps to promote protein synthesis. Plus, it contains all nine amino acids essential for building muscle, and it's gluten-free, so it's easy to digest. #fitness #gym #workout #fitnessmotivation #fit #motivation #bodybuilding #training #love #health #lifestyle #instagood #fitfam #healthylifestyle #sport #healthy #gymlife #instagram #follow #like #personaltrainer #crossfit #fashion #bhfyp
