Hey hey! It's
#firstimpressionsfriday🎲 started by the lovely
@kay_plays_games and this week we have been playing ECOSYSTEM SAVANNAH by
@gotgeniusgames
🦒1-6 players
🦒15-20 mins
🦒Age 8+
🎲Overview: SAVANNAH is a card drafting, pattern matching, placement optimisation, tableau building card game set in the wilds of the Savannah! 🦒🦒
🎲Gameplay: I have been loving the solo mode in SAVANNAH which is suuper simple to learn and play. Whether playing MP or solo, you are drafting cards into your hand and laying cards to complete your 4 x 5 Savannah tableau with the best combination of animal and feature cards. Each animal/feature scores differently and nearly all of them score based on what is adjacent or in the same row/column as them! In MP mode it is play and pass close drafting. In solo mode, I must play a card and then give a card to my AI opponent (which gets played into a set pattern - left to right, top to bottom) and I only beat them if the difference between our scores is >55!🦒
🎲First Impressions: As a huge fan of ECOSYSTEM CORAL REEF, I already knew I loved the fast playing, placement optimising puzzly play of the game but was interest to compare the artwork and the different scoring conditions in this version. And I was not disappointed - the way each animal/feature scores made for interesting decisions each time. And although I thought I was doing well by hoarding grasslands, lions, and giraffes, I lost to the AI by 1 point!! Which sounds bad but is brilliant as I couldn't wait to play again and try to beat it! Although some animals/features feel like they could dominate, and the mechanic of the play is the same each game, the randomness of the draw each game means the combination of cards to play with will be different each time. There's a big deck and only a small section of cards is cycled through per game though so make sure someone shuffles well! I love a game where all I have to do is shuffle the deck and play so I predict this will easily become another one of my go to solo games! 🦒
Huge thanks to
