📍Chicago [Kasama] ⭐️ pt.2 The protein courses start with a charred squab (baby pigeon btw) served with foie gras. A tad gamey in flavor, probs bc it’s pretty red, but super tender 🥹 Loved the sauce, slightly sweet and didnt have the metallic liver taste! The pasta was fine with a light eggy texture that fresh noodles have. Tastes a bit mild compared to the rest of the dinner tho. The kare-kare is 💯 Peanut curry with lamb belly and the strong nutty flavors are excellent. The naan was rly thin tho so kinda wish it was more flaky? more soft? Savory ends with an elevated a5 wagyu bistek served with carmelized onions. The meat is very buttery so the mustard seeds work hard to balance it. Fatty but has a slight chew - cut could be better imo. Lots to look forward too bc there are four dessert courses!! Starts with THE famous truffle croissant. Honestly this tastes even better in miniature form bc the cream to pastry ratio is just perfect. AND it’s served warm too 👏 This was the best bite of the night. Then comes a banana & mochi donut skewer. The chew is chewing. Super satisfying. The banana is soft but maintains structure so feels like sweet potato?A diff type of chew 🙆‍♀️ SO SMART and yummy. 📍Chicago [Kasama] ⭐️ pt.1 Finally made it for their dinner menu! I’ve been waiting to try since Day 1 of my Chicago move so this was the perfect finale. I’ve dined in for lunch and remember it being very hectic so pleasantly surprised by how well the team transformed the space to fit the upgraded price tag. It feels romantic and gentle, replacing the morning buzz. All else remains just as warm and inviting. Dinner consists of 13 courses - 4 of which are desserts!!! Starts with a welcome drink, followed by my FAVORITE dish of the night, kinilaw. Kaluga caviar, coconut cream, and Kanpachi blends together in this fantastic bite of sweet, salty, and creamy. Never tasted coconut and caviar together and now I’m obsessed. This pairing is elite 💯 Then for some pulutan (“bar snacks”). A lumpia that combines fresh & fried together, salmon skin chicharron that tastes like a vinegar chip, and an oyster topped with crunch. These are seasoned strong so probs pair well with your drink. I got the virgin ube fizz and ngl didn’t like it. More citrus than ube and tasted like yakult..? Pass for me. Next we have nilaga, a stew of rice, cabbage and Wagyu & served with a side of broth. The soup is unbelievably rich and full of umami. Just wow 😮 For the more familiar sounding dishes, maitake and scallop adobo topped with a mussel emulsion. These scallops were amazing! They have a slight sear with this gorgeous sweet undertone. Prepared with so much expertise. Sinigang was another fav. A sour tamarind soup with the richest, fattiest grilled sablefish. I loved this 🙆‍♀️ The fish is super buttery so the soup is an amazing balance. And the leeks??? Elevates it all with a hint of sweetness. Such a smart dish. 💕 Tasting Menu $275* 💕 Ube Fizz (non alc) $13 기대하고 기다리던 Kasama 저녁. 필리핀 식당중 처음으로 미슐랭 별을 받은곳 답게 그 나라의 식문화를 매력적으로 표현한다. 여기서 먹고나니까 더 많이경험해보고싶은 퀴진! 아침에 갔을땐 엄청 정신없었는데 저녁에는 분위기가 고급스럽게 바뀌어서 가격대에 걸맞는 식사를 할수있음 👏 디너는 13코스로 전체적으로 간이 쎈 편이다. 짜다기 보다는 시콤함을 많이 사용해서 익숙지 않은 강한맛….? 이날 베스트는 첫 디쉬로 나온 kinilaw. 캐비어, 코코넛 크림, 방어의 조합이 최고다. 특히 캐비어랑 코코넛, 요 조합은 처음 먹어보는데 단짠에 크리미한게 그냥 미쳤버림 🤯 첨부터 끝까지 어렵지 않고 맛있는 테이스팅 메뉴라서 추천! 🍴4.5/5 inspired to try more Filipino

📍Chicago [Domo Cafe] Many many sundays spent here 🥹 I love everything about Doma. It’s the perfect spot with clean Scandi vibes, delicious brunch foods with a Croatian twist. Weekends get pretty busy but usually there are tables available in the patio area so don’t let the crowd scare you. On weekdays this becomes a great wfh spot! Their pancakes might be my favorite in the city. The dreamiest fluffy density with the home made warmth and taste (plus an aesthetic side of butter and syrup). They’re rly big too so great to share 😉 If you want sth savory AND want to try their famous cevapi and hash browns, get the breakfast plate. A truly balanced meal with greens, protein, fats, and carbs. You can never go wrong with a breakfast sandwich and Doma makes theirs with a thic, fluffy layer of folded egg. Their house made secret hot sauce is super yum and the best part about dining in is that you can use an unlimited amount. Not pictured but I love their grain bowl too. Crispy brown rice mixed in with walnut basil pesto and topped with sweet potato & greens. 📍Chicago [Kumiko] My favorite cocktail bar in Chicago 🫶 They are very deserving of their spot as the best bar in Midwest. Truly a special experience elevated by the gentle, quiet energy that’s often hard to find in West Loop. Kinda tough to snag a last minute table res but bar seatings are first come first serve! Prepare to be charmed by Kumiko’s extensive cocktail menu filled with delicate names and descriptions. Loved the milk punch 🥰 Clear to the eye but milky to your taste buds. It tastes bright and has this subtle sweet & creamy flavor that masks the alcohol taste. From the signature, try the sea flower - zesty, salty and fun. Ask for recs too bc the servers light up to share their favs! Food menu is limited but has all the essentials. Treat it as a complement to your drinks, especially the pickles and nuts!! Do not leave without getting the truffle milk toast 💯 Perfectly toasted Japanese milk bread topped with fermented honey ice cream and truffle shavings. 📍Chicago [Aji] The only omakase in Lakeview! With only 10 counter seats, the dinner feels intimate and the team puts a lot of effort to guarantee a satisfactory experience. Service is friendly without being excessive and thats what gives Aji their good rating 💯 The sushi itself tastes fine, but nothing extraordinary. I thought their shari temperature was a bit warm in the beginning but cools down eventually. Their neta was kinda bland and too soft but that’s just my personal preference 🤷‍♀️ I think Chicago sushi has a loooong way to go and from the spots I’ve tried, Aji had the fairest price-to-quality! 💕 Omakase $150 적당한 가격대의 미들급 스시야. 시카고 스시는 갈길이 멀다 🥲 스알못인 나도 느낄수있는 아쉬운 퀄리티. 여긴 그나마 가격대가 괜찮은 편이다. Yume랑 비교해도 가격 차이 만큼의 다름을 못 느낌. 구글리뷰가 진짜 좋은데 아마 백인 동네라서 그런듯…? 굳이 찾아갈 필요는 없음. 🍴3.75/5 gets better with every piece

📍Chicago [avec] It says a lot when a restaurant has been around for 20 years. Means even more when that neighborhood is the West Loop 😉 Avec is a Mediterranean spot that’s been doing the shared plate & communal table combo long before it was cool. The first floor gets very crowded and is a bit noisy (but you’ll recognize the interior from The Bear!!) Ask to be seated on the second floor if you prefer a more relaxed meal and separated tables. The winter squash was our FAV!! Roasted squash surrounded by labneh drizzled with pickled mango, rose, & petita. Loved how it was sweet and savory with a kick of spice. We scooped the plate clean with our extra pita 💯 Medjool dates has been on their menu for twenty years so it’s a must try. Bacon wrapped & chorizo stuffed for a sweet, salty, and spicy bite. A whole lot of flavor and the tomato sauce adds that extra bit of acidity to elevate the dish from basic to special 🙆‍♀️ 💕 roasted winter squash $20* 💕 baby carrot hummus $26 💕 extra pita $2.50* 💕 medjool dates $20 💕 minced lamb flatbread $28 💕 pavlova $12 시즌마다 변화되는 웨룹 식당들 사이에서 20년동안 자리를 지켜온 avec! 피크타임에 가면 사람이 엄청 많으니까 예약 필수다. 일층은 공용 테이블 위주에 시끄러운 분위기고 좀더 조용한 식사를 원한다면 이층으로 부탁드리기 ☺️ 오픈때부터 쭉 메뉴에 있는 시그니쳐 medjool dates. 요건 주문 필수다. 쵸리죠가 들어간 대추를 베이컨으로 감싸 단맛, 짠맛, 매콤함까지 맛볼수있음. 극강의 한입이다. 나머지도 낫배드~ 시카고에 가면 츄라이 🍴4/5 twenty years strong!

📍Chicago [Akahoshi Ramen] Hands down, the BEST ramen in Chicago. Okay, so I haven’t tried them all, but to me this bowl is on par with the noodles I’ve had in Japan. Obviously this is not an original thought bc Akahoshi is one the hardest seats to book atm. Test your speed when reservations open Monday (at noon!!) or your patience waiting in line for a walk-in slot. Pictured is the namesake miso and my god it tastes fucking amazing. My only regret is solo dining and not being able to order more. This miso broth is super rich & fatty, just FULL of umami. Literally warms you up from the first slurp 😋 The most exciting part tho is the homemade crinkly noodles. They are chewy but also has this springy lightness to it…? Soft but maintains structure all the way to the last bite 💯 You can just taste the hours spent to perfect them. 💕 Akahoshi Miso $19* 💕 add Ajitama $2 라멘은 여기가 시카고 원탑 👏 다 먹어본건 아니지만 그중에서 일본 현지에서 먹는 맛이랑 제일 비슷함. 진하고 걸쭉한 국물과 꼬들꼬들한 면, 겨울에 먹으면 그냥 미쳐버림. 긴말 필요없고 고고!! 🍴4.5/5 cant wait to try the other noods

📍Chicago [UMMO] I’ve been seeing the desserts from UMMO on my feed so obvs I had to stop by. A relatively new Italian addition in River North with a contemporary menu & trendy vibes. Really spacious too so great for groups! Start with their gnocco fritto appetizers. We got the mortadella ones, stuffed with ricotta cheese and topped with parmesan. Great savory & creamy combo but you could be fancier and order the beef tartare or prosciutto sampler options 😉 From pastas, I can never not order mafaldine. Made in house so has that light texture (kinda overcooked tho) that pairs well with the simple peppercorn flavor. But the standout is the branzino 💯 I love the way Italians do fish but also idk how they eat it bc it’s so hard without chopsticks. Grilled perfectly, maintaining that juicy meat with salsa verde for a tangy kick. Finished with roasted tomatoes, pickled onions, and fresh radishes for textural variety. Strongly recommend!! I know they’re famous for the tomato dessert but I find sweet versions of tomato to be like eating ketchup…? 🍅 I love ketchup (even on my Chicago dogs) but not as dessert. The tiramisu is almost as exciting and they pour a chocolate & amaretto sauce around the bean. The bitter undertone rly elevates the dish but the liquor flavor is a bit strong for me. 💕 Mortadella di Pistachio e Ricotta $4ea 💕 Mafaldine Cacio e Pepe $20 💕 Branzino Arrosto $45* 💕 22 W Tiramisu $16 요즘 시카고 피드에서 자주 보이는 곳이다. 오픈한지 5개월된 신상 이탈리안 레스토랑인데 인테리어도 트렌디하고 맛도 낫배드! 애피타이져는 뇨꾜 프리토 중에서 먹기. 우린 심플하게 모르타델라 올린 걸로 시켰는데 타르타르나 프로슈토를 곁들여 먹을수도있다. 파스타는 당연히 마팔디네지~ 🙆‍♀️ 약간 오버쿡되었지만 그래도 부드러운 식감이랑 후추향이 맛남. 베스트는 농어!!! 알맞게 구워져서 촉촉한 생선살과 시콤한 살사 베르데가 매우 조화롭다. 약간 짭조름해서 밥이 생각난건 비밀 🫣 🍴3.75/5 not your usual Italian

📍Chicago [Peninsula - Shanghai Terrace] Chinese food with a view. Located in the terrace area of The Peninsula, they look out to the mag mile at a distance that mutes the noise level ☺️ Indoor seating also available, but their furnishing feels a bit worn (dinnerware too). Food is solid. My fav part is that you can order Peking duck in half portions. Just enough for two 🫶 Dimsum is fine - wouldn’t say it’s life changing. Is it the best Chines food you’ll find? Nah, but there’s not much to choose from in River North. 💕 crab siewmai with fish roe $19 💕 lobster and chicken dumpling with truffle $21 💕 peking duck (half) $60* 💕 dragon cucumber salad ?? 쇼핑하다 중식이 먹고싶은때 가는곳? 페닌슐라 호텔 에 위치해서 그런지 서비스 하나는 최고다. 날씨 좋을때 가면 테라스석에 앉아 노닥거리기 좋음. 맛은 낫배드. 하프 사이즈의 베이징덕을 먹을수있다는게 장점이다. 둘이 나눠 먹기 딱 적당한 포션. 딤섬은 음… 더 낮은 가격대에 더 맛있는 곳이 많겠지만 주변엔 없으니까 😂 🍴3.5/5 it’s not rly a mag mile shopping day if I don’t stop by the Peninsula

📍Chicago [Peninsula - Pierrot Gourmet] My go to spot for a mid shopping break. It’s on mag mile, right across Saks and has this relaxed European charm to it. They also have one of the best patios for people watching!! As for food, you can choose from the wide selection of pastries & sweets as well as simple options for a quick meal 😋 Food tastes solid, service is great, vibes are vibing. Can’t get any better than this! 💕 Raspberry Rose Macaron $14* 💕 Coffee Bean $12 💕 Quiche Lorraine $20 💕 Cappuccino $6 💕 Passion Fruit Macaron $3.50 쇼핑하다 당땡길때 가는 카페 🫶 Saks 옆에 붙어있어서 위치도 딱이고 호텔에서 운영하는 곳이라서 서비스가 매우 좋다. 다양한 패스츄리, 디저트, 간단한 식사까지 준비되어있는데 퀄리티가 꽤 괜찮음!! 🍴3.75/5 lil sprinkle of Europe

📍Chicago [Ciccio Mio] The most intimate & gorgeous spot for Italian food in all of Chicago. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the @hogsalt restaurants but I would say Ciccio Mio has a slightly more personal vibe to it mostly due to their amazing staff. It’s a challenge to reserve but totally worth the effort - bring your date here & she shall be impressed 😉 Especially during holiday szn. Start with the burrata. It is so unbelievably good and idk what they do with it bc it looks so simple but tastes heavenly 💯 Apparently they’re delivered from Italy every 3 days and the quality just shows. Paired with the fragrant olive oil & housemade fougasse, this needs to be on your table. You can’t go wrong with their pasta. I think I’ve tried them all by now but pictured are my two absolute favs. The spicy vodka rigatoni reminds me of Carbone’s prime days. Perfectly cooked noodles that literally bursts with flavor 😋 Bucatini is creamy without being heavy and just the right amount of truffle. If you have room for more, get the gnocchi. They’re pan seared so has this amazing crust & served with a delish brown butter sage sauce. Make sure to leave room for dessert. Their soft serve gelato is fucking amazing. It is sooooo smooth and serving size is massive. Both the toasted almond cookie (pictured) and fior di latte are excellent. They have this subtle clean flavor? I usually go for the milk one tho bc the olive oil, chestnut honey, and fennel pollen combo is magical 🫶Tiramisu is a bit boozy for my liking. 💕 Burrata $22.99* 💕 Spicy Vodka Rigatoni $25.99* 💕 Black Truffle Bucatini $27.99* 💕 Soft Serve Gelato $9.99* 시카고에서 뭘 먹을지 고민된다면 Hogsalt 식당들 부터 찾아보기. 실패없는 요리랑 시카고스러운 클래식 무드를 경험할수있음. 메뉴랑 분위기가 약간씩 다른데 Ciccio Mio는 파스타가 메인이다! 바로 옆에있는 스테이크 전문 Bavette’s랑 Gilt Bar도 추천 (메뉴는 살짝 곂침). 예약이 힘든 편이데 당일 워크인도 가능함. 시작은 부라타. 보기엔 심플한데 진짜 대박 존맛이다. 3일마다 이태리에서 배달온다은데 퀄리티가 와👏 올때마다 시켜가지고 다른 애피타이져를 시킨적이 없음. 파스타는 다 먹어본거 같은데 사진은 최애 2가지다. 리가토니는 쪼금 매콤한편이고 딱 Carbone 스타일! 부카티니는 리치한데 헤비하지는 않고 트러플도 잔잔함. 사진은 없는 뇨끼도 강추! 바삭하게 시어링된 겉과 쫜득하면서 보드라운 식감이 최고다. 디저트도 필수. 완전 젤라또 맛집 🙆‍♀️ 깔끔한 맛과 텍스쳐가 미쳐버림. 두가지중 우유가 좀더 취향이다. 토핑된 올리브 오일, 밤꿀, 회향? 꽃가루의 조합이 너무 맛남. 🍴5/5 my fav hogsalt spot
