@takashi_photography . | At an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters (3,280 feet), Lake Yamanaka in Japan's Yamanashi Prefecture is the highest of the Fuji Five Lakes, and it can sometimes get colder than minus 10 degrees Celsius (14 degrees Fahrenheit) in winter. Swans are not seen on the other four lakes at the base of Mount Fuji, but strangely, many swans live on Lake Yamanaka, the coldest lake, throughout the year.
